LMK coil warehouse Cologne’s Niehl quarter

In 1998, dip built a new coil warehouse in North Cologne in four months as commissioned by LMK Logistikmagazin GmbH. It served as an intermediate storage facility for so-called steel strip bundles weighing up to 40 tonnes a piece before being shipped out to the automotive processing industry.

The warehouse is supported on sleeve foundations. The support structure was built using a 10 x 40 metre grid of steel stanchions and trussed girders with a span width of 40 metres. The warehouse floor consists of block paving.
