As the general contractor, dip constructed the car park in approximately 15 months. On 4 May 2016, the builder and future operator Contipark opened it on schedule. GIVT mbH planned the structure.

The modern car park for the planned university hospital spans 37,000 square metres of space with more than 1,300 parking spaces on four and a half levels. The parking spaces have an individual width of 2.50 m and are designed to make getting in and out of parking spots convenient. Four entrances, three exits and two helical ramps also keep traffic moving during peak hours.

Michael Kesseler, CEO of the Contipark Group, expressed how pleased he was with the successful result: “We are especially proud that together with our project partners Deutsche Industrie- und Parkhausbau GmbH, GIVT Gesellschaft für Innovative Verkehrs Technologien mbH und Specht, Kalleja + Partner Beratende Ingenieure GmbH […] we were the recipient of the second ESPA Gold certification ever awarded in Germany.”

Bundesverband Parken e.V. awards the “European Gold Standard Parking Award” to public car parks that meet high quality standards, both structurally and operationally, and provide their customers with safe, convenient parking services.
